From as far back as we can remember, our dad, Randy Durbin, always told us one thing — “I’ll do whatever it takes to protect you and build something strong for your future.” At the time, those words just sounded like what any loving father might say. But as we’ve grown, we’ve seen what those words truly meant — courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering determination to keep his promises.
When we were little, Dad was already hard at work building GBP Direct, an idea born out of his grit and vision in the bayous of Louisiana. He told us that one day, if we ever wanted to, there’d be a place for us — a company that could become not just his dream, but ours too.
Fast forward to our college days at LSU — Dad’s dream didn’t slow down. It accelerated. He fearlessly took on challenge after challenge, acquiring 13 companies since 2014, each one a building block toward making GBP Direct stronger, safer, and more secure. He wanted to create something that would stand tall long after him — a legacy not only for us, but for every employee who helped build it.
There were nights we’d see the worry in his eyes — nights when he didn’t sleep, wondering if he had gone too far or risked too much. But fear never stopped him. He pushed through it. He expanded warehouses, invested in new trucks, took on bold risks — all while carrying the weight of every decision on his shoulders.
Today, we proudly stand beside him as part of GBP Direct — one of Louisiana’s largest woman-owned companies in office furniture and supplies. The foundation he built is now ours to carry forward. We see in him what “fearless” truly means: not the absence of fear, but the courage to keep moving forward in spite of it.
Dad, your promise has never wavered. You’ve built more than a company — you’ve built a legacy of love, perseverance, and strength. And now, as we help lead GBP into its next chapter, we’ll do so with the same fearless heart you’ve always shown us.
